Separate three kinds of access
| Question | Answer | Check before paying |
|---|---|---|
| Can membership provide the full game? | Ultimate and PC Game Pass include E-Day at full launch | Use the membership on its eligible platform |
| Does that alone mean Premium early access? | No; Premium early access is a separate benefit | Check the applicable Premium product and base-game access |
| Does console online play need an entitlement? | Yes, an online-enabled Game Pass membership | Game ownership alone does not answer console online access |
| Does a Steam PC purchase require Game Pass? | No; a Steam purchase is a separate PC ownership path | A Microsoft account is still required |

The full-launch time applies to membership game access. The edition comparison lists Premium extras and explains why Premium Upgrade is not a standalone base-game purchase.
Choose the path for your device
- Xbox console
- Check both access to the game and the subscription entitlement for online multiplayer.
- Windows PC
- PC Game Pass is a membership path. A Steam purchase is a separate ownership path, with its own store and account requirements.
- Cloud device
- Confirm the service's cloud entitlement, region and supported client before subscribing for that device.
Use the cloud checklist for a phone or tablet, and the multiplayer matrix to decide whether your intended session is local campaign or online co-op.
Check the base game before adding an upgrade
A Premium Upgrade adds benefits; it does not supply a separate base-game license. If membership is your access path, check that your membership still grants access and that the upgrade applies to the version you use. Do not assume that a benefit purchased in one store applies to every store.
The platform guide distinguishes Play Anywhere from Steam ownership. If you are choosing between membership and a purchase, decide around access and the extras you want rather than expecting membership to skip cosmetic challenge requirements.
