A qualifying Microsoft-store purchase supports Play Anywhere across Xbox and PC. Steam cross-play does not turn a Steam license into an Xbox console purchase. Use the multiplayer matrix to separate invitations, saves and ownership.
Check the device you own
For a Windows machine, compare the minimum and recommended PC requirements before buying.
For Sony hardware, the PS5 answer covers the unannounced version rather than extrapolating from an earlier Gears release.
For Nintendo hardware, read the Switch and Switch 2 answer before trusting a port listing.
For a phone or tablet, the mobile and cloud guide distinguishes a stream from a native app.
Buy access for the session you want
The Game Pass guide explains full-launch membership access and the separate Premium benefit. The edition comparison helps if you prefer a purchase, and the unlock table shows when the edition can be played.
No Xbox One native release is listed among the announced platforms. Do not assume an older console, macOS or a native Linux install is covered by the Xbox Series and Windows announcements.
